Brad and Heather Fox during their show "Stay or Sell" on HGTV
The first time I used our treadmill -- 11 years ago -- I listened to a podcast through ear buds and watched an NBA basketball team in action.
In those days I had a full-time career, a hubby who dislikes pro basketball, and determination to lose some weight. Hence the decisions on what to watch while working out ....
Fast-forward to current day, and it's clear I'm now addicted to Home & Garden, or HG, TV. That's HGTV for the uninitiated, and the cable channel has just celebrated its 25th anniversary.
This avid gardener (my blog on gardening is gardensirencall.blogspot.com) also loves to decorate in the home, especially during the holidays. To add allure: The show, "Stay or Sell" (https://www.hgtv.com/shows/stay-or-sell) debuted in late August and is produced in my native Minneapolis. I can dream about early childhood memories while watching Heather and Brad Fox turn homes like sow's ears into silk. It's also fun to see the remodeling projects going on during a Minneapolis winter.
It's the only TV that keeps my interest for the 30-45 minutes I walk/run, 4-5 days a week. (Hey that workout plan is only sensible if one has less-than-impressive health insurance, but that's another story.)
'Stay or Sell' offers the premise that the Foxes will take on clients who are unhappy in their current homes, for a variety of reasons. They offer the homeowners three choices, including the original home. Whatever home is chosen is fixed up to a degree that meets the needs of the clients.
The big stars of HGTV are the Property Brothers, Drew and Johnathon Scott. The best show these two do is "Forever Home," where their clients are facing a challenge and a perfect home is one solution to a better life.
I also watched each episode of "Rock the Block," a competition with four female HG stars, and the "Brady Bunch" television home series, the highest rated in the network's history.
Are you easily bored? Do you have the attention span of a gnat? Try HGTV for a change of pace.

I've taped several of the couple's shows!
